Position the tread impactor on the longitudinal centreline of the tread and as close to one side as possible, so that it can be dropped freely onto the tread. Apply the impact test with a vertical drop height of 150 mm. The tread impactor shall not be allowed to bounce. Carry out the test 10 times. Repeat the test at the middle of the tread.
